Gig History

Get Smart! band formed while at University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS in 1980.

In 1983 they relocated to Chicago, IL. The group signed to Fever Records (an independent label in Philadelphia, PA) and released their first album, "Action Reaction" in 1984.

For the band's second album, Fever Records arranged a pressing and distribution deal with Enigma Records in Los Angeles, CA. "Swimming With Sharks" was released in 1986 on Enigma's "Restless Records" boutique label. The band disbanded in 1990.

REUNION: Get Smart! have reunited and have released a brand new 6-song EP called "Oh Yeah No", which features 6 songs that were recorded in 1987 but were never released. It's available now on the band's Bandcamp page.

They were also planning a reunion concert for their 40th anniversary at the Bottleneck (the old Off the Wall Hall), in Lawrence, KS on November 7th, 2020. However, this has been postponed due to the COVID pandemic. They hope to reschedule the show for sometime in 2021, just as soon as it's safe to do so.
